Description

The painted plaster model of a standing pug, standing attentively with a bemused quizzical expression and wearing a collar, survives from the first quarter of the twentieth century, and probably, Italy.

Remaining in sound overall condition this pug has some very small areas of loss to his decoration and to the plasterwork beneath, with one leg being repaired at some stage.

The pug is a toy dog with a wrinkly, short-muzzled face and curled tail. The breed has a fine, glossy coat that comes in a variety of colors, and a compact square body with well-developed muscles. Unlike their live counterparts this fine plaster example do not suffer from a variety of health issues, including overheating, obesity and some genetic disorders and no care must be taken to clean his ears and the facial skin folds of this chap.

Brings instant fun to any tabletop.
