A Fine Early Geo III Mahogany Shaving Stand with ebony cockbeading, the folding tops opening to reveal a rising mirror, turned soap cups and brass basin (a rare survival), above a tambour cupboard and drawer, and quatrefoil pierced stretcher with bottle ring. The use of ebony is associated with the Londond firm of Ince & Mayhew whose 'Universal System of Household Furniture' was published in 1762
