18th Century Gold Thread Embroidery on Silk, almost certainly Chinese & commissioned as a chair back cover. This exquisitely worked embroidery was discovered beneath later layers of upholstery on a Geo III giltwood armchair and is now framed as an art work ready for hanging in the home. Minimal wear & tear commensurate with age (see close-up photo)
