Original collection of Ordnance Survey Manuscripts & Printed Documents.Concerning the preparation of a New Edition of the Ordnance Survey & covering the Northumberland / Newcastle on Tyne & boundaries from 1854-55
This is a large collection of original items from the 1850's relating to a survey for the north east of england & consists of approx nine hand written letters & envelopes & approx 25 printed documents with a majority of the documents having detailed hand written notes to the rear of each sheet.
An interesting collection from 19th century giving an excellent insight into early map preparation
