A Rare C.19th Antique Carved Oak Court / Credence Cupboard

We are pleased to offer for sale this rare and unique cupboard that once resided in an Irish monastery.
Made in the French style and including a most impressive large cornice with dentil frieze, bold carvings of fruit supported by fluted baluster turnings with capitals over a top cupboard with canted and carved side panels and pretty S scrolls.......
The splendid door panel with profuse carving depicting the resurrection of Christ. The uprights decorated with carvings of serpent-like creatures synonymous with the keeping of medicinal remedy.

The lower stage, with breakfront aspect, rests on an attractive molded plinth and has good, shelved storage capacity. Each cupboard door with arcaded panels and further profuse carvings depicting biblical scenes. The uprights with further decoration in the form of caryatid figures.

This item splits into 8 pieces for transportation.
It also has a secret storage cavity.
