Edwardian Mahogany Batchelor’s Fireside Companion, Purdonium Whatnot

This is a very attractive piece of Edwardian furniture, it is decorated with tuned spindles and inlaid, there is a shell decoration both on the front and on the tray top
This useful item, it sits by a fireside chair, it is shelved to accommodate books and magazines and plenty of room on the top for a snack or beverage, in the centre is the coal box which pulls down and tips the double handled metal coal bucket forward. The bucket is then at the correct angle to shovel the coal
The Purdonium is in good condition with some fading to the genuine and original finish
The Whatnot is 40” tall, 25” wide and 16” deep
