Rare English Wooden Barbers Pole Trade Shop Sign 

This is a very Rare old sign, it is English in origin, we have the Red and White stripes wrapped around the pole, this is a tradition dating back to the time when the barber, because he was the only one with sharp instruments was the local surgeon and red and white represent blood and bandages
 
The sign can be wall hung on the still remaining brackets, still sound and in good condition, a very unusual a rare piece and well worth adding to any collection or it would be authentic decoration in any design especially a Barbers Shop
The pole is 55” high and 9” across
