Description

19th Century Carved Oak Day Bed or Ships Sleigh Bed.

This very unusual bed is very much in a nautical theme so it may have been taken from a ship.
The bed is made in Oak and carved, both ends of the bed have an outward sweeping shape, making it very suited to be used as a day bed or settee, piled up with comfy cushions
The foot board is distinctly carved with Celtic motifs and a ships anchor with an arrow quiver and torch at the top, the sides of the bed have more Celtic patterns and a linen fold design

This is an attractive bed, it has chunky pine boards and wants only for cushions and a mattress (36”x 76”)
The bed is in good sturdy condition, only one little piece of damage on the very top edge of the head board
The bed ends are 37” high, the overall length of the bed is 84”.
The in side size of the bed is 76” long and 36” wide
