Description

George VI Silver Fruit Knife Hallmarked for Sheffield 1938
and with the maker`s mark - W.N, for William Needham,
Eyre Street, Sheffield.

An excellent, medium/small fruit knife.
The blade opens and closes correctly - snaps at 90 degrees, snaps at fully open, and snaps closed, although at closed it is not so sharp. I have lightly oiled it and it is improving.
Mother of Pearl facings to both sides, with the hinge cover and the vacant cartouche, both made of nickel.
The blade spring is very strong, like a modern knife. The blade is in very fine condition, with just a few very shallow and slight scratches from being opened and closed.

Beautiful condition. 85 years old. No undescribed faults.

Open length:- 119 millimetres.
Closed length:- 70 mms.
Weight:- 20.8 grams.
