Description

Edward VII Silver Fruit Knife Hallmarked for Sheffield 1907
and with the maker`s mark - R.P, for Robert Pringle & Sons,
Clerkenwell Road, London, EC1.

An excellent, large fruit knife.
The blade opens and closes correctly - snaps at 90 degrees, snaps at fully open, and snaps closed, but at closed it needs to be closed by hand. I have lightly oiled it and it is improving, with use.
Mother of Pearl facings to both sides, the front engraved with a large vase of flowers. The hinge cover and the vacant cartouche, both made of silver.
The blade is in very fine condition, with just a few very shallow and slight scratches from being opened and closed.

Beautiful condition. 116 years old. No undescribed faults.

Open length:- 144 millimetres.
Closed length:- 83 mms.
Weight:- 28.3 grams.
