Description

Edwardian Inlaid Feathered Mahogany Secretaire Bookcase. The shaped surmount top having line inlay with a central satinwood outline banded square panel and urn shaped finials to each corner. The stepped cornice over a fine foliate inlaid frieze with a moulding below. The pair of glazed doors having line inlaid astragals and line inlay to the frames. The interior having 3 shelves with line inlaid fronts. The chest base having square edge to top with satinwood banded sides and to top surface. The secretaire drawer front and the 3 oak lined drawers below having fine ribbon tied floral inlaid swags with central urns having foliate scrolls and cast brass swanneck handles with open fret backplates. The fall front secretaire drawer held by brass supports. The interior having central satinwood door with an oval inlaid shell flanked by an open document section with shaped divisions these flanked by 6 satinwood oak lined drawers with brass knob handles. All sitting on splay feet and shaped line inlaid base. The sides of the top and base having a satinwood banding and line stringing.
