Description
Circa 1840, exhibition quality Biedermeier flame mahogany waterfall whatnot/buffet. The top tier has a profusely carved back ledge with open fretwork, flowers and wonderful carving. There are five serpentine shaped tiers with matching flame mahogany veneers, the top four with stylish gadrooning to the fore edge. Each tier is supported by tapering barley sugar columns topped with finials. The bottom tier has veneered fore edge, and the whole piece stands on fine turned and fluted bulbous feet. Great colour and patination. Wonderful piece of Victorian cabinet making.Size 166cm high x 108cm wide x 46cm deep.
