Description

Circa 1890, late Victorian croquet set on a stained beech stand. The circular stand has a lifting handle on the top over a turned section with ring-turning and open apertures to hold the mallets. This whole piece is held on a turned and tapering upright. At the bottom there is a circular base with a scooped-out centre for retaining the balls. Beneath this bezel there are four squat bun feet. The mallets are all various shapes, with their cylinder heads and their true-bore handles, and there is a variation of balls. Good colour, nice object for a hallway or vestibule.

Size including stand 110cm high x 50cm diameter.
