Description
Circa 1870, French walnut display cabinet. The top features a simple frieze, shaped cornice and neoclassical style ormolu mounts. The canted sides are surmounted by ormolu garlands and fluted decorations with ormolu infills. It has a single door with shaped, bevelled-edge glass, above a vernis martin panel with a pastoral scene. The base of the cabinet has a simple skirt with ormolu mounts, and it all stands on tapered, square supports with foliate style ormolu feet.Size 181 cm high x 73 cm wide x 49 cm deep.
