Description
Circa 1850, Pair of antique Chinese armchairs. The stepped rounded top rail leads on to rounded supports and they have an open back with floral carved moulding. The stepped rounded arms are over a lower, spindle-supported rail. With an inset panel seat in a moulded frame the carved apron below the seat rail extends down to the turned supports. These are all connected by peripheral stretchers. There are hints of the original red-tinged colour underneath.Size 92 cm high x 57 cm wide x 44 cm deep.
