Description

A lovely Victorian leather photo album gifted to Sarah Field by Lady Agnes Fletcher of Ham Manor in the parish of Angmering, West Sussex. The manor, and the majority of the estate, was purchased by Sir Henry Fletcher in 1869 and was owned by the family until the death of Lady Fletcher in 1915. It is now Ham Manor Golf Club.
The album was retailed by Webster and Stockley of 60 Piccadilly, London. It contains 48 photos, including one of Ham Manor. On the opening leaf is written “Sarah Field - from Lady Fletcher - May - 1870”. As can be seen in the photos, the album is in lovely condition with all pages containing a photo. It measures 16 x 12.2 cm and is 5.8 cm thick. There are tears to two of the pages which I have photographed.
