Description

A lovely pair of white metal ear cornets dating to about 1880. As can be seen in the photos, these are in excellent condition. Ear cornets did not amplify sound like a hearing aid, but sat inside the ear of an individual with a collapsed ear canal. The cornet opened the canal to allow sound waves to pass through. They come in a blue silk and velvet fitted burgundy leather case which is also in excellent condition. The case measures 3.6 cm wide, 3.8 cm high, and has a depth of 2.1 cm. The hearing aids measure 1.6 cm in length and have a maximum width of 1.1 cm.
