A superbly cast early 20th century bronze inkwell in the form of dog.

The head has delicately painted eyes giving the face wonderful expression. The hinged head opens to reveal a hollow inkwell interior. The original glass liner is absent. The whole piece is very finely done with every tendon, muscle and ripple of skin carefully considered and sharply cast.
