Description

This is an absolutely fantastic rare to find Art Deco period Clarice Cliff Teapot, in the Athens shape, hand-painted in the Ravel design. It is in very good condition with just a little age-related wear, which includes, on close inspection, some crazing to the lid, but no chips, cracks or restoration. It measures approximately 27cm from spout to handle.

The Ravel design was produced between 1929 and 1935, painted with an abstract design in green, orange and black against a pale-yellow ground. The pieces are thought to have been inspired by the French composer, pianist and conductor Maurice Ravel who in the 1920s and 30s was regarded as France’s greatest living composer.
