English school, late 18th, early 19th century portrait of two sisters.Grisaille watercolour and pencil.
To the verso a handwritten notation that we are reading as Rebecca Saunders artist, Rachel Saunders her sister. ……….’s great great aunt.
A lovely, sensitive portrait over two hundred years old. The frame does show some wear but this only adds to the faded charm.
