Description

This is a really lovely Georgian mahogany chest of 3 drawers. The chest dates to the later Georgian era so around 1820-30s and is very pretty. The drawers are all a good size and are all full width. The chest also has a brushing slide between the top drawer and the flat surface, this pulls out and was for putting a gentleman’s brushes etc on whilst he was dressing, which is why it is called a gentleman’s dressing chest. It has a smooth top with a lovely rounded edge. The chest stands on lovely ogee feet. It has brass swing handles and gorgeous brass escutcheons. This really is a nice looking set of drawers. They are in good solid condition and stand well with no loose bits or wobbles. The drawers all fit well and slide as they should. The handles are all good and well attached. It’s a great piece, it’s only fault that I can see is a small piece of wood missing from the very back of the right hand side, shown clearly on the last photograph. This is not noticable when the drawers are placed against a wall, but needs mentioning. The wood is in great condition, the finish glows and it just looks the business.

The drawers measure 111cm wide x 57cm deep x 95cm tall.
