Description

A stunning 19th Century square stool in the original paint, probably Italian. The elegant tapering legs of this antique stool are painted with flowers and foliage within a gilt cartouche on all sides of the legs. This decoration is repeated on the frieze. The stool has been recovered with a textured linen fabric in a soft shade of green which perfectly compliments the original paintwork. The condition is good, there are some minor areas of wear to the original paintwork, but we think this beautiful original decoration adds to the character of the stool. The stool is sturdy and stands well with no wobbles. A beautiful decorative stool to enhance any interior.
