Description

A good example of a 16th Century antique brass capstan candlestick, sourced from a collection in North Norfolk.
These candlesticks were sometimes referred to as "Bell Base" sticks.
This example has the characteristic short sconce with ejection aperture and is joined to the base by peening. The base below the large drip pan also bears the original lathe marks.
Condition as per images - surface wear. There is slight movement to the sconce however this is still secure to the base.
