A wonderfully rustic rushnip dating back to the late 17th Century/ early 18th Century.

English origin.

The nip with twisted stem, the counter balance with conical-shaped candlesconce.

Supported overall on a gnarled wooden base.

Condition - as per images. Surface pitting to the wrought iron commensurate with age. Age-related losses to the wooden base too. This nip still displays very well.

Rushlights are a must for any collector of oak primitives or country furniture as they add authenticity to a period room setting.
