RARE EARLY Islamic silver dirham
Guaranteed at least 1,200 years old

This is a beautiful historic work of art in amazing condition for it's age

This coin was minted for the Caliph Al Walid who ruled the Iraq region and it is dated 94AH making it very early.

It was minted in a city named Wasit.

The caliph Abd al-Malik ibn Marwan introduced the true Islamic coinage in 70AH. His system was to have the inscription on one side as follows:
"La ila ha il Allah
wahda hu
La shareeka"

and on the other side would contain information about the caliph and where the coin was made.
