Description

A late Regency rosewood jewellery box of sarcophagus form and having turned ring carry handles and gadrooned feet with mother-of-pearl foliate marquetry and line inlay. The lid lifts to reveal a fitted sewing tray with a tooled leather mirror with stationary holder to the lid. The two doors enclosing three graduated drawers all with mother of pearl pulls, the lowest having a pull-out writing slope with tooled leather, pen tray and original inkwells. The middle drawer with lift out fitted jewellery tray, the top drawer retains the decorated paper lining. The whole in very good original condition with working lock & key.
