Description

This unusual, decorative and very good quality Victorian Gothic style silver plated salver has a Lozenge patent mark dating it to 1868. Of circular form, the pierced raised rim with a distinctive tongue and dart border. The centre profusely engraved with Gothic style decorations raised on three cast bracket feet of similar style. All three bracket feet struck with the "Victorian Lozenge" which not only certifies the registered patent of an item but allows the identification of the exact date of its registration, in this particular case, the 16th May 1868. Large enough for four wine glasses or six champagne flutes.
