Description

This beautiful and rather impressive George III silver cream jug bears the London Assay marks and dates circa 1820. Of oval bellied form, it is finely bright-engraved on the upper section and embossed with foliate scrolls below the girdle. The foliate decorations surrounding a vacant cartouche to the front. Reeded border and reeded angular handle. The interior still retaining the original gilt wash. The base raised on four ball feet.

TW attributed to Thomas Whitehead.
London Assay mark.
Lion Passant.
Date letter erased.
Duty Mark.

Height up to handle: 10cm / 4 inches.
Length from spout to handle: 15cm / 6 inches.
Maximum width: 7cm / 2.6 inches.
Weight: 145 g / 5.1 oz.

Condition:

Good.
No repairs or dents.
Date marks erased but the rest of the marks very clear.
Orignal pale gilt interior.
