Description

This delightful and unusual Victorian silver and cut glass scent bottle was made by the Mousley Brothers and is dated Birmingham 1896. The small sliced-cut cylindrical amber glass body with criss-cross and reeded patterns. The neck fitted with a plain hinged silver lid, the inner lid gilt and the neck fitted with the original amber glass stopper. Exquisite star-cut base.

Hallmarks:

M BROS for the Mousley Brothers.
Birmingham Assay mark.
Date letter "w" for 1896.
Lion passant.

Dimensions:

Height: 3.5cm / 1.2 inches.
Diameter: 2.5 cm / 1inch.

Condition:

Very good.
Scent bottle in very good condition.
Glass in the inner neck in good condition, no cracks.
Stopper in very good condition.
No holes to the silver lid.
