An impressive inlaid mantel clock by Japay Freres of Paris. An ebonised case with brass and red tortoishell boulle inlaid front. A gilt dial with raised individual Roman numerals and ornate blued steel hands. A well cast gilt dial bezel surround with convex bevelled glass. An 8-day duration mechanism striking the 1/2 hours and hours on a bell signed Japay Freres. Circa 1890.
