Description

A rarer Georgian 'salt box' fusee wall clock. A mahogany case with a narrow dial surround and a concave cast brass bezel. A 'salt box' curved base found on these early examples. A convex 12" painted dial with blued steel hands signed 'Jams. Delasalle, Gosport'. An 8-day duration timepiece fusee mechanism with tapered plates. A period winding key, Circa 1820.

James Delasalle of Gosport moved from London around 1816.
