An earlier example of a French brass cased carriage clock. An enamel dial with blued steel 'moon' hands and Roman numerals. An 8-day duration timepiece mechanism signed to the back plate by retailers 'BOXELL BRIGHTON' Circa 1860.

T Boxell of Brighton is recorded in Loomes' Watchmakers and Clockmakers of The World' book as working from 1851-1878.
