Description

A superb top quality Victorian Burr Walnut Piano top davenport. This davenport has the best burr walnut veneer. It has a piano top fall with working lock and key with a pop up section to the rear revealing a stationary section. Inside there are two drawers the righthand drawers houses the pop up mechanism.
There is a rising easel writing surface with what appears to be it's original leather insert which when flat could be used for a laptop.
There is also a pen tray with two quality replacement inkwells. There are four real drawers to the right with working locks and key and four dummy to the left for symmetry. Each drawer is dovetailed with mahogany linings. It has four brass castors set inside a walnut cup. This is a truly stunning davenport.
