Here we have a extremely rare and large 15th/16th century wrought iron Tenebrae of fantastically ornate design. Standing 7 feet 3 inches tall and having 15 pricket spikes for candles this really is a show piece! The Iron work is incredible, at the base the feet are decorated with scrolling foliage that almost looks like flowers in bloom. The stem is decorated with a fine rope work design and further foliage and a couple of roundels. The triangular frame is decorated with punch work and scrolled prickets, the frame also rotates and is detachable for easier mobility. A real museum piece and in excellent condition.
