Large 17th Century Spanish Walnut Table
A Large 17th Century Spanish Walnut Table with Three Drawers.

This wonderful table is made of faded walnut with a large solid, overhanging top made from one piece of timber which is pegged to the base. The turned baluster legs are joined by a large H-stretcher. There are three drawers in the frieze, with wrought iron hardware and key. The drawer fronts and side frieze are carved with charming scenes of birds and flowers in low and medium relief. The carving continues around the back, so the table can be free standing. It has a lovely colour and wonderful patination and is an unusual example.

This table has stayed in remarkable condition, considering its age and it has its original feet, which is rarely seen. The legs from top to bottom are each made from one piece of timber.
