Description

This is a spear from the village of Gilwern, near Abergavenny in Monmouthshire. It is number 260 in Margaret Fuller's reference book. Margaret Fuller was assistant keeper at the Museum of English Rural Life, University of Reading. Her book was published in 1964 by The Oakwood Press. This book is regarded as the "bible" for collectors of Friendly Society spears.
