This is a vintage fat lava vase. A German, ceramic magma finish stick stand, dating to the mid 20th century, circa 1950.

Distinctive finish with appealing colour and of useful proportion for hall use
Displays a desirable aged patina and good original order
Bulbous ceramic form decorated with layered glaze
Generous opening diameter of 10cm (4'')

Rich orange band to centre set within a tactile, mottled ground
Rim and foot decorated with a dark blue speckled finish
Interior finished with a rich, chocolate brown hue
Mark to base reads W. Germany with pattern number
