This is a vintage four fold privacy screen. A Japanese, lacquer and soapstone Art Deco revival room divider, dating to the late 20th century, circa 1970.

Striking screen with wonderfully deep lacquer tones and appealing decor
Displays a desirable aged patina throughout, extending smoothly
Lacquer ground hosts ornate detail to each panel
Beautifully accentuated in soapstone relief

Folds away to a depth of 14cm (5.5'') for ease of storage

Front fascia adorned with relief birds and medallions of foliate interest
Each bird and vase motif skilfully carved into relief from individual soapstone pieces
