Description

Just arrived from a private estate and fresh to the market!

A superb vintage collectors or specimen chest of tall and handsome proportions.

Comprising some 20 drawers of varying depth and capable of storing any number of objects.....just add your imagination!

Natural history items - shells - fossils - rocks - minerals - workshop / studio tools - art materials.....this fine chest is one of the nicest examples of its kind we've had.....good looking, highly versatile and so incredibly useful.

The construction is a combination of quality veneered / laminated wood (for example, the side panels) and solid timbers. The drawer frames and superstructure or carcass are all from solid beech. Well made throughout, the drawers are engineered with metal stops preventing them from sliding right out (and so the accidental spillage of the contents).

The platform style base boasts a fascia of thick marble stone, which provides a lovely dark contrast to the rest of the unit.

Dating to the first half of the 20th century, this large but very compact chest has the potential to completely declutter your space and provide an all in one storage solution for your collection or tools. Would look stunning in an artist's studio, a living space or a workshop.

(Note, the objects shown in the photos are for illustrative purposes and are not included in the sale).
