Description

FINE small size early George II Cuban mahogany "birdcage" tilt top tripod table, made during the "Chippendale"period.

Beautiful single piece of timber used on the top with early feature of the edge being "under-moulded". Nice shape tripod base with turned column and original birdcage mechanism which allows the top to be turned.

Wonderful colour with original patination.
The brass is an old replacement catch otherwise in excellent original condition for age.
It is unusual to get a Birdcage tripod quite as small as this, they are normally much larger.
