Description

A Victorian mahogany breakfront bookcase dating to the mid-Victorian period, circa 1860. Constructed from very fine, almost fiddle back, solid mahogany, the top has a central breakfront with moulded and rounded corners below which are separate mahogany lipped shelves which can be adjusted to fit whatever size of books may be desired to store three centrally and to either side. The shelves have been fiited with attractive antiqued black leather dust covers.

Raised on a shaped plinth, these bookshelves are very good quality and in good condition, with a mellow colour and depth to the mahogany patina.

Width 72 inches, height 43 1/2 inches, depth 15 inches
