Description

A freestanding 19th Century burr walnut pedestal kidney shaped desk of exceptional quality, the moulded edge top having a tan brown leather writing surface decorated with gilt tooling, the front of the desk having an arrangement of nine graduated, mahogany lined drawers with the original turned wooden handles and escutcheons, lovely figured drawer fronts, both sides of the desk having large moulded panels with highly decorative floral inlay, the figuration is truly amazing, supported on a moulded and shaped plinth base. Spectacular craftmanship and In superb condition and having a nice rich warm walnut colour. Circa 1860
