Description

A large 19th Century ebonised, boulle and brass mounted credenza of exhibition quality, the ebonised shaped top having double brass inlay running along the edge, the frieze below having further brass inlay and incorporating brass patraes, highly decorative brass leaf mounts along the front and sides of the frieze, four glazed doors below opening to reveal a gold velvet lined interior with two fixed shelves in each section, the door fronts having wonderful intricate boulle decoration and brass beading around the edge of each door, four turned and fluted columns either side of each door with Corinthian capitals and brass inlay, the plinth below having further brass inlay as the same style as the frieze and incorporating various brass patraes and bold decorative mounts, each side of the credenza having brass inlay of rectangular form with brass circular patraes in each corner with a large brass mask mount at the centre, supported on six turned and brass mounted feet. Fabulous quality and in excellent condition. Circa 1860.
