A Modernist Walnut Bookcase by Gordon Russell

Description
This bookcase is made of solid walnut and has the simple, precise Modernist style espoused by designers such as Gordon Russell in the inter-war period. Its only concession to decoration is in the fine figure of the wood and the restrained moulding to the plinth. It bears a copper label for Gordon Russell Ltd on the back and dates to c.1930.It measures 120cm high, 120cm wide and 24cm deep. The graduated shelves are 23cm, 23.5cm, 26cm and 31cm high.
It is in good and original condition with minor knocks in keeping with its age.
