A Victorian solid walnut and burr-walnut pedestal desk of excellent quality.

c1890.

The top has a lip moulded edge with a solid walnut writing surface.

The pedestals have four graduating drawers each, flanking a central single drawer, so nine drawers in total.

The drawer fronts are particularly lovely, having beautifully figured burr-walnut raised panels.

The drawers are of dove-tail construction and oak lined, showing excellent quality.

Retaining the very pretty original brass handles, original locks and brass escutcheons.

Standing on a nicely shaped plinth base.

In excellent antique condition. expected signs of use. The top may have had an up-stand at the back originally, as there are a couple of tiny holes towards the back. These have been professionally wood filled, so are barely visible.

Very solid, sturdy and strong.

The desk doesn`t dismantle.
