A simply stunning rare design George III tall serpentine shaped chest of drawers.

c1760.

The cross-banded top is over an arrangement of six long graduating drawers, which are oak lined, and of fine dove-tail construction.

Elegant rococo design handles, with some of the original gilding still evident, and having matching escutcheons. Also retaining the original locks to each drawer.

Good rich mellowed colour and natural patination to the figured mahogany.

The chest is constructed in two parts, making it very easy to move and manoeuver.

Excellent antique condition. Expected signs of general age and use. Some small veneer repairs to a couple of the drawer corners, which have been shown in the pictures.

Very solid, heavy, strong and sturdy.
