A fine and elegant harlequin set of six Regency rosewood and mahogany dining chairs.

c1815.

Each chair having a characterful paled wood patina, with delicate and finely carved detail.

Two are rosewood with brass inlay and finely carved mid rail.

Three are mahogany, with figured mahogany panels to the top-rail, which are also beautifully and delicately carved.

The single chair is solid mahogany in a plainer design, having reeded legs.

All having drop-in seats with a very complementary matching green & white patterned quality fabric. The drop-in seats where individually made to fit each chair, so each chair has its own seat.

Four with reeded forelegs and sabre back supports.

The two rosewood chairs have sabre supports.

Super quality chairs of their day.

Condition-
All chairs are solid and sturdy. With historical repairs to the top rail of one of the rosewood chairs and part of the brass inlay strip missing, this is shown in the pictures. Some knocks and bumps to some of the chairs, but this works well with the character of the paled wood, so the chairs are not pristine but do have a charming character and lovely paled wood colour which is what made us love the chairs and want to purchase them. They were super quality chairs in their day. The fabric shows some signs of general wear and use. With character and patination to the wood.
