Description

This is a lovely example of a late Victorian solid Oak Arts & Crafts Double Wardrobe c1880-1900. It is in the Scottish School influence after 1885 more probably. It is raised on ogee moulded sleigh feet with deep mouldings influenced from the Scottish School. The lower single drawer has a shaped frieze underneath with slab ends to the wardrobe so indicative of this period. The central bevel edge mirror door is hinged on the right hand side. The front has deep fielded panels with carvings either side of the door. The upper cornice is shaped and carved and has pedaments to each corner. The carving is wonderful with foliate decoration. The inside retains its original hanging rail and the back panels are also solid oak in a great colour. The lower front left handle middle is missing but doesn't effect the use of the handle.

It is

55 inches wide

87 inches high

22 inches deep
