Description

This is a Regency period Mahgoany sofa table c1811-20. It is raised on brass lions paw castors with four swept legs with double reeded decoration that is echoed in the top of the table. The main columns is an ornate series of large turnings. The table has one dummy draw and one real draw with wooden turned knobs. The top itself is Honduras Mahogany with a double reeded moulding. A lovely table from another era.

When this was made our we had not defeated Napoleon and the Crimea War had not been thought of, we ruled the waves and had just finished our second War with America.
