Description

This is an Antique Arts & Crafts, Scottish School Chair designed by A.E. Taylor and made by Wylie Lochhead of Glasgow c1885-1905. It is rasised upon swept front legs with a pair of rectanglular profile front slats with the side and back stretchers being round. The seat is rushed and this is the high back example with the main back supports having swept back legs to the lower half. The central support are straight oak supports with the crest rail having the famous broken heart motifs. A great chair that speaks for itself. The is a bedroom chair and hence is meant for clothes to be put on and look pretty, it is not for sitting on, ironic as that sounds. It is solid but these are decorative chairs and not usable chairs.

it is

20 inches wide

38 1/2 inches high

17 inches deep
